In her mid-teens, Ileste is a very slender girl of average height. Her long white-blonde hair is braided, looped, and pinned up with a silver and amethyst clip, framing the fair-skinned oval of her face, and complementing the pale violet of her large eyes. Her lips are touched with softest pink.

Her attire is as pallid as she, rendering her almost luminous: a white sisal blouse under a lavender brocade vest, a matching flowy skirt embroidered at the hem with tiny white caducei, and low-heeled shoes of the same hue. At her shoulder is the knot of a resident of Igen Weyr.

Ileste is the teenage granddaughter of I'sai and Alessandra of Telgar Weyr, and A'deth of Igen Weyr.

Though she was born at Telgar, she, like her mother and grandmother, is a member of the Wylen trader clan, which specialises in fabric, clothing, and jewelry. Her parents stand to inherit leadership of the clan, and in the future it's presumed that, as an only child, so will she.

She has spent most of her life on the move, and was already very good at keeping records and balancing the books. However, she was somewhat restless and dissatisfied. To her parents' dismay, the renewed advent of Thread prompted her to return to the Weyr.

Becoming an infirmary assistant, as her father also once was in his youth, is a far cry from being her clan's heir apparent, but she seems to find the change acceptable. Dutiful and possessed of much sangfroid, she seems to presently find satisfaction in being of service to those who are of service to Pern.

She has recently moved to Igen Weyr, wishing to get to know -- and to assist -- her other relations, now that Threadfall is almost gone.
